So last night I was longboarding with my dear friends, David and Cherisse. We were having a grand old time, until tragedy struck. We were about six miles up in Smithfield Canyon, and were going to board down to the bottom, something we do quite frequently, although we usually only go about three miles up.
So there we were, boarding along. I was on the Arbor, which is the best out of the boards we have, so I was booking it along quite quickly. I was going down a pretty steep hill, we figured I was going between 25 and 30 miles per hour, when I hit the rock.
I hit this freaking rock and went down. My right knee hit first, and then I rolled and hit the left side of my head extremely hard on the road. Luckily, I didn't black out or anything, but it hurt like none other. I grabbed my phone and my glasses, which had fallen off of me, and went to the side of the road. David caught up to me and jumped off his board, and Cherisse came right behind him in the car. They helped me get into the car and we took off to my house.
By this time I was sobbing. I have never had anything hurt so hard. At first I felt okay, but as we kept driving, my eyesight got weirder and weirder. Soon I couldn't read anything because the letters were so distorted, and the left corner of my eye was blurry. It made me dizzy to move around, and my head ached like none other. Every time I tried to bite down, my left temple would throb, like what happens when you have a headache and chew gum, only a lot more painful.
My neighbor, Dave Reese, who is a doctor came over and looked at me, and he said he thought I was gonna be okay. The three big signs for brain bleeding are passing out for more than 1 minute at a time, throwing up, or having memory loss. Well he left, and shortly after that, I started throwing up. I threw up five times before I felt like I was finally done. It was awful.
I still didn't want to go to the hospital, because I absolutely hate hospitals. Instead, I just went to sleep on my couch and my lovely mom just checked on me periodically throughout the night. I couldn't eat anything and it took me a while to fall asleep because my head was pounding so hard.
Luckily, everything should be okay. It hurt quite a bit and I'll probably not longboard for a while, just because it scared me so badly. And that's my adventure of last night :)
oh my hell! i hope it is still getting better. i love you :)
